Liability-Only Coverage
Insures the driver against expenses to the victim due to an at-fault accident including death, injury, or property damage. The minimum coverage level typically required by your state is typically much less costly than what is typically considered “full coverage” insurance, which would include higher collision and comprehensive coverage levels. However, taking on this cheaper amount of coverage alone can put you at risk of being under protected in the case of an accident or incident.
Collision Coverage
Insures the driver against expenses to the victim due to an at-fault accident including death, injury, or property damage. The minimum coverage level typically required by your state is typically much less costly than what is typically considered “full coverage” insurance, which would include higher collision and comprehensive coverage levels. However, taking on this cheaper amount of coverage alone can put you at risk of being under protected in the case of an accident or incident.
Comprehensive Coverage
Covers damage to a vehicle related to something other than an accident, such as theft, vandalism, storm damage, and more.
Un- and Under-Insured Motorist Coverage
Covers you against an at-fault driver who is uninsured or not uninsured at a high enough level to cover your expenses.
Deductible Amount
Amount of money that the insured will need to pay toward their vehicle’s repair before their insurance coverage kicks in to pay for the rest. By having a higher deductible, your coverage premium costs typically are lowered but the amount still needs to be kept manageable for the driver to be able to pay in the case of an incident.
Insurance Limit
Maximum amount your collision or comprehensive insurance will cover under your policy. Insurance with lower limits is more affordable but may leave you open to risk if in a more expensive accident.
Medical Payments Coverage
Insures the driver to cover medical expenses when the driver or passengers are injured.
Personal Injury Protection
Covers expenses due to injury in a covered accident.
Rental Car Reimbursement Coverage
Covers a certain amount toward the rental of a vehicle while your car is in the auto shop due to an insured loss.
Teen Driver Coverage
Covers underage drivers while in the permit stages of obtaining their driver’s license.
Classic Car Insurance
Is made for older vintage and antique vehicles.
Custom Equipment Coverage
Is offered to replace aftermarket parts, audio/video equipment, or any other electronics that are stolen or damaged and were not originally installed by your car’s manufacturer.
Roadside Protection
Includes various roadside services such as battery jump-starts, tire changes and other services as laid out in the specific policy.
Umbrella Policy
Covers your personal liability in both your car and home beyond the usual coverage limits.
