Not all services related to dental care are covered by health insurance policies. There are a set st ancillary services like- creating the tooth crown, pre-surgery and post-surgery x-rays, cleaning of the teeth, making braces, molding artificial teeth etc., which do not get directly covered under dental insurance plans. Buying ancillary insurance in dentistry can help minimize costs a great lot for these allied services.
In visual care also, there are a host of services that do not fall under direct medical care. These ancillary services like; preparing the lens, testing the eye’s power, frame fitting, x-ray of the eyes, and shots for eyecare are covered under Ancillary health insurance. In most cases, your Medicare or Madigap plans will not cover these services. Having an additional plan than covers these ancillary services may prove worthwhile.

Ancillary health coverage is meant to fill the gaps of what traditional or conventional health insurance does not cover.
